UPCOMING/ONGOING EVENTS:  

"Travelling ‘Explore Victoria' Alphabet Show"
Happy New Years wishes from 17 members of the Island Illustrators Society!

Alphabet pieces inspired by our own Victoria! Illustration works inspired by the architecture, artists, gardens and sights of Victoria. Work is being created in all media, with a few extra alphabet letters in ready to spell “Happy New Year” for the new years edition of The T/C.
This years artists include the following: Kathy Cameron, Dawn Joy Ritchie, Sharlene Stushnov-Lee, Karine Gordon-Beaumier, Verna Linney, Jessica Smith, Judy Hilgeman, Kristi Bridgeman, Geoff Smith, Allegra Vernon, Catherine Campbell, Ruth Bowman, Sandy Terry, Lynn Kingham, Marcela Strasdas, Marcia Semenoff and Lorne Miller.

The first show of the 2015 Travelling ‘Explore Victoria' themed alphabet exhibit, will be hosted by the G.V.P.L.'s Juan de Fuca Branch for the month of January 2015. ‘Happy New Year” will be featured in the front foyer glass case. Located in the Juan de Fuca Center at1759 Island Hwy, the library hours are Mon 10-6 | Tue 10-9 | Wed 10-9|Thu 10-9 | Fri 10-6 | Sat 10-6 | Sun 1-5 For more information see call the library at 250-940-GVPL.


Island Illustrators Society Meetings:
Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month, 7-9:00 p.m.
(with the exception of a summer break July/August)
Please join us!

Unless otherwise noted, all meeting are held at "The Barn" 1885 Lansdowne (access from Watson). Map available, please email. All Island Illustrators Society meetings are open to the public and are wheelchair accessible. We ask for a small donation at the door.

The Island Illustrators Society was established to foster a greater interest in the art of illustration. The society exists to benefit its members and clients through shared information regarding illustrative techniques, business ethics, and standards. In order to achieve these goals, the society makes partners of practicing illustrators, students, clients, and other interested parties.

Definition: Illustration is a piece of visual information, either drawn or photographed, which usually illustrates an accompanying text. The purpose of illustration is to enhance the ideas presented in the text, or simply, to transmit information or concepts visually.

The Island Illustrators Society does not act as an agent, but as a venue for you to contact any one of its members. You are invited to write to us at:
